Road construction season is about to begin in Amherstview. Loyalist Township has hired GIP Paving Inc. to complete milling and paving work on several streets across the community. Work begins April 14 and is expected to wrap up by the summer, weather permitting.
Crews will repair curbs, adjust manholes and catch basins, and improve road drainage. A Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer will be applied before fresh asphalt is laid.
Residents may temporarily lose driveway access, especially where curb repairs are needed. Driveways and lawns will be restored after the work is finished. Temporary lane closures and traffic delays are expected. On-street parking will be available.
Construction will start on McKeown Crescent first, followed by Clifford Street on April 28, Kildare Avenue on May 12, and Kidd Drive on May 26.
Loyalist Township encourages drivers to slow down, follow posted signs, and check their website and social media for updates.
