It was a big night for Prince Edward County’s own Emily Fennell. She took home a pair of Maple Blues Awards. The awards took place in Toronto last night and they celebrate Canadian blues music. Emily Fennell, who is also known as Miss Emily won new artist and female vocalist of the year. She was also in the running for entertainer of the year, but that award went to Downchild.
In addition to the two awards, her music video “Hold Back the River, ” shot inside Kingston Penitentiary, won the inaugural Sapphire Video Award. The next chance to see Miss Emily perform is on Valentines day at the Isabel Bader in Kingston.
