Shelby Kramp-Neuman has officially announced she intentions to run for MP of Hastings-Lennox and Addington. She made the announcement Monday morning to a small crowd in Conservation Park in Napanee.
Kramp-Neuman was born and raised in Hastings county, and is the former Deputy Mayor of Centre Hastings Municipal Council. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, where she studied Communications and Political Science.
Some top priorities Kramp-Neuman has includes creating stable, predictable infrastructure funding from federal and provincial governments, rebuilding Main Street by assisting small businesses and providing incentives to invest in, rebuild, and start new businesses, increase the availability of affordable housing, as well as establishing critical cell phone and broadband internet infrastructure in rural communities.
myFM had a chance to speak with the new candidate after her speech, where we asked what it would be like, if elected, to work alongside her father, H-L&A MPP Daryl Kramp. She says her father and mother have been huge mentors to her as a mom, a business woman and a politician.
