Old Hay Bay Church is getting ready for their Annual Pilgrimage Service.
myFM spoke with Rev. Phil Wilson, a trustee and custodian for the church, who told us the history of this service.
This service on Sunday, August 22 will feature the Rev. Dr. Orville James as guest speaker. Rev. Dr. James was the son of a pastor, and nephew of Wesleyan and Free Methodist pastors. From his educated at Queen’s and Princeton, he has shared his message with congregants of the United Church of Canada in New Brunswick and Southern Ontario. He has served with the Methodist Church of Maine and has also done two exchanges with the British Methodist Church in England and Wales.
Rev. Wilson told us more about him.
Rev. Wilson told us how this year’s service will run with COVID-19 restrictions in place.
The church will also be open for viewings that day. You are encouraged to go in and experience the hard pews and the soft breeze from the Bay.
