Starting today (September 22nd), if you want to dine indoors at a restaurant, go to the gym, movie theaters, sports facilities or dance at a nightclub in Ontario, you will need to prove you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he knows many people are concerned about this new proof of vaccination system.
Ford says the COVID-19 proof of vaccination system is a temporary and exceptional measure that will only be used for as long as it’s needed and not one day longer.
In his press conference this morning, Ford told reporters we can’t afford to have businesses shut down again or experience a sudden surge in cases like other provinces are seeing, adding the vaccine certificates are the best tool to get through the coming months.
Ford says enforcement of the new system will lead with education.
The Ontario Premier is reminding people to be patient with business owners and front line workers as the new proof of vaccination system kicks into effect.
