Former Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Derek Sloan has announced he is running locally in the upcoming provincial election.
myFM spoke with Sloan, who told us about the switch from federal to provincial government.
Sloan is running as the leader of the Ontario Party. He told us about why he is running in H-L&A.
Some issues Sloan sees locally and provincially, include how the province handled the COVID-19 pandemic.
When asked for a message to share to the community, he started in saying he’s known for being honest, and for being willing to speak the truth whether it’s comfortable to hear or not. He says when it comes to the bigger parties, though you are voting for a local representative, they don’t have the freedom or authority to represent the local riding like he does.
Sloan joins the ballot with Liberal Ted Darby, Conservative Ric Bresee, and NDP Eric DePoe as candidates in Hastings-Lennox and Addington.
