Since Public Health’s last COVID-19 report on Thursday, May 5, the KFL&A region has seen three new deaths due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 55 in the region.
Today’s update shows there are now 10 local cases in hospital, with two in the ICU and one on a ventilator.
Public Health also reported 260 new high risk cases of COVID-19 since their last report, bringing the number of high risk cases to 524.
KFL&A Public Health’s Outbreak tab identifies two active outbreak at the John M. Parrot Centre. One was declared April 19th, the other on the 30th of April. There is an active outbreak at Helen Henderson Care Centre in Amherstview, which was declared on May 3rd. There is also an active outbreak at the Riverine Retirement Home in Napanee, that was declared on May 4th. Public Health COVID-19 dashboard does not report the number of cases associated with an outbreak as they report case counts are no longer accurate due to the changes in testing.
As of this afternoon, 92.9% of individuals 5 and over in KFL&A have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. 89.4% have received their second. 69.4% of those 18 and over have received a three doses.
