Thursday night was the night of all nights for the business community in Lennox and Addington County, as the Chamber held their annual AGM and Business Excellence Awards.
One exciting announcement to come from the AGM, was that the Chamber received approval for a name change and to extend their boundaries. The former Napanee and District Chamber of Commerce is now the Lennox and Addington Chamber of Commerce.
myFM spoke with Chamber President Ken Shurtliffe, who told us what inspired this change.
Shurtliffe says the benefit of this change, is that for the people in the northern parts of L&A County, they now have business group representation.
But for the Chamber, it will remain business as usual, just with a few new members.
Then came the exciting stuff – the awards! Special guests to present awards and congratulate winners include H-L&A MPP Ric Bresee, H-L&A MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman, Greater Napanee Mayor Terry Richardson, Greater Napanee Deputy Mayor Brian Calver, Greater Napanee Councillors Dave Pinnell Jr. and Bill Martin, and Stone Mills Councillors Krysta-Lee Woodcock, Rob Fenwick and Shari Milligan.
