He may only be here for a few more months, but OPP Detachment Commander John Hatch has big plans for the Lennox and Addington community.
Acting Inspector Hatch sat down with local media Thursday and told us he’s going door to door to find out more about community needs directly from residents.
Officers have been attending the high school as well to chat with kids after reports of issues downtown.
Hatch comes to us with 28 year’s experience, most recently working with the Prince Edward County detachment of the OPP. He shared some of the differences.
Hatch is also wanting to share an important reminder of their non emergency phone number (1-888-310-1122) and when to call it versus when to call 911. He says anything to do with public safety, it’s a 911 call.
The acting inspector is set to be in the position until the end of December 2023. At that point he could be reassigned to another detachment and a new commander brought in, but he tells us there’s a chance he could stay in the role longer.
