Thanks to scholarships from the Municipal Retirees Organization of Ontario (MROO), two local students are able to further their post-secondary education.
Recipients are chosen based on their leadership skills, volunteer experience, and dedication to making a positive impact in their communities.
From Zone 5, which includes Lennox and Addington County, two $3,000 scholarships were awarded. Matt Alkenbrack from Napanee, studying Music Industry Arts at Fanshawe College, and Nicholas Ryan Doran from Centreville, studying Concurrent Education at Brock University, were the deserving recipients.
Zone 5 Director, Jackie Forsey, commends the positive impact of MROO’s work in local communities and emphasizes the substantial effect these scholarships have on students’ lives by helping them focus on their studies.
