UPDATE Dec 28, 2023 2:35pm: Highway 401 has fully reopened after the westbound lanes were closed for a semi truck that was on fire.
Emergency crews have removed the semi truck and cleared the scene. The OPP report there were no injuries to the driver of the truck.

Highway 401 is currently closed westbound between Switzerville Road and County Road 4.
Lennox and Addington OPP are currently on scene for a semi truck on fire. No further details about the incident have yet been shared.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and use the emergency detour route.
