Thanks to the vigilance of staff, more contraband has been seized at Collins Bay Institution in Kingston
On April 3rd, during a search of the institution, staff found several packages containing contraband like ecstasy, suspected Fentanyl, cell phones, and accessories, totaling around $127,780.
Then, on April 9th, a package containing contraband, likely from a drone drop, was seized. It contained tobacco, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cell phones, and accessories, with an estimated institutional value of about $59,100.
This is after staff seized a number of packages within the last week of March.
The Correctional Service of Canada has increased efforts to stop contraband and unauthorized items from getting into its facilities to maintain a safe and secure environment for all.
