The year is 1919. It was Montreal vs. Seatle in the Stanley Cup Championships, the pop-up toaster was invented, and Napanee resident Margaret Rivers was born.
Rivers is set to celebrate her 105th birthday this weekend on April 28th.
myFM met with Rivers in her home in Napanee where she lives and likes to keep busy.
She’s an avid crafter who uses many different mediums from yarn to paint. At one time, she taught crafts in Kingston and in Napanee.
During World War two, she used her sewing skills to use stitching uniforms for Canadian Soldiers.
This year for her birthday, her wish is for happiness for the world.
