We’re now nearing the end of the second week of restoration work to the exterior of Greater Napanee’s Town Hall in Market Square, and lots has been done!
Taking this project head on is The Brick Painters Ltd.
myFM spoke with the company’s owner and CEO Matt (Woody) Woodworth, to learn more about their painting process.
On the north side of the building, you’re able to see a test patch that was done, to get council’s approval of the colour. This is what the entire building will look like once completed.
On the east end of the building that faces centre street, you may notice it looks like patch work right now. Woody says they’ve left it like that for now as a visual of the steps they’re taking, with the white, greys and copper up top.
Woody shared that it will take them about three months to finish.
And if by chance a vandal were to spray paint the building or if paint started to chip years down the road, Woody says it’s an easy fix.
Stay tuned to myFM for weekly updates on this project, with more from the painters and fun facts about the building and its history.
