Local residents of Ward 1 will have the chance to meet and question elected officials from Greater Napanee at St. Alban’s Centre in Adolphustown. This public forum is hosted by Friends of St. Alban’s Adolphustown (FOSAA), a registered charity that supports the community through various initiatives.
“We work to serve the community in a variety of ways,” said Dan Coghlan, Chair of Friends of St. Alban’s Adolphustown (FOSAA). “We hold concerts and other public events every year, and we also believe it’s important to give citizens the opportunity to hear and interact with their municipal voices and decision-makers in both election and non-election years.”
The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 26th from 7 to 9 pm. Ward 1 Councillor Michael Schenk, Mayor Terry Richardson, and Deputy-Mayor Brian Calver have confirmed their attendance. Topics will include taxation, homelessness, and town services such as garbage collection and recycling.
“We’re hoping for a representative crowd at the forum,” said Coghlan. “We’re working hard to ensure it’s as good as possible by having microphones in the audience, and we’re also expecting a robust supply of submitted questions to our website at StAlbansCentre.ca”
Questions can be submitted online or asked in person during the event.
St. Alban’s Centre, a historic community hub, continues to play an important role in Greater Napanee, with FOSAA raising funds through coffee and book sales to maintain its buildings.
Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in this important community discussion.
