The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation (LACGH Foundation) proudly announced the grand opening of the Bill and Kay Paul Medical Imaging Centre Tuesday afternoon.
Board Chair Deb Lowry shared with the crowd that this is an exciting celebration for our community.
Hospital CEO Michael Bell noted the MRI adds a very versatile and invaluable diagnostic tool that was the region now benefits from. He went on to say the new space has been well received by patients and by the diagnostic imaging team.
Foundation Chair Kelly Roantree expressed her gratitude to all of the donors, hospital board members and staff, our community service clubs, local businesses, our municipality, and volunteer services.
This state-of-the-art facility was made possible by a $1.75 million donation from the estate of Bill and Kay Paul, the largest gift in the foundation’s history.
Since the MRI unit’s soft launch, over 1,500 exams have been completed. The centre offers faster outpatient services, reducing wait times, and provides same-day or next-day MRI services for emergency and inpatient care.
