Loyalist Township has started trimming dead branches and limbs from ash trees along Main Street in Bath. This is the first step in a larger tree maintenance project aimed at removing and replacing dead or dying trees affected by the Emerald Ash Borer. The invasive pest has caused significant damage to many ash trees in the area.
To ensure public safety, the Township is removing hazardous branches to reduce the risk of falling limbs along the busy street. The project also focuses on maintaining the overall health of remaining trees by addressing the impact of the pest.
As part of the initiative, Loyalist Township will offer public engagement opportunities before tree removals. This will allow residents to provide input on the design and future landscape of Main Street. The Township emphasizes the importance of trees in the community and is committed to enhancing green spaces through its tree replacement program.
