It was the weekend of hat tricks for the Napanee Raiders.
Friday, November 15th, the Raiders welcomed the Post Hope Panthers to the Best & Bash Arena. Just 3-minutes into the first period, Michael Patrick opened the scoring for the Raiders to take the lead. Port Hope then rallied for their first of the night and to tie the game. Napanee quickly answered that with their second goal of the night by Andrew Carr. The second period saw Napanee jump to a 3-1 lead thanks to a second goal by Michael Patrick. During the third period the Panthers scored early to bring the game within one point, but it was all Raiders the remainder of the game. Michael Patrick scored his third of the night to earn the hat trick, then Erik MacNiel put a bow on it for a 5-2 Raiders win.
Sunday, November 17th, the Raiders played a matinee game on the road against the Trent Hills Thunder. This game started where their last ended, a goal by Erik MacNiel. Luke Jarmin then scored the Raiders second of the afternoon. From there, Trent Hills scored their only goal of the night. Then, Michael Patrick scored the Raiders third goal of the first period for a 3-1 lead. The second period saw 4 goals for the Raiders by Matthew Airheart, Trent Williams, Andrew Carr and Jayden Holden. then to solidify their win, scoring in the third period for the Raiders was Matthew Airheart, Trent Williams, Michael Patrick, and Matthew Airheart again for the hat trick! Raiders won 11-1.
As of the time of publication, the Napanee Raiders were in second place in the East Tod Division standings with a 13-4 record and 26 points.
The Raiders are back in action Friday, November 22nd when they host the Amherstview Jets at 7:30pm. Then on Saturday, November 23rd, they’re on the road against Port Hope at 7:30pm.
