The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC) has announced its 2025 leadership following its annual meeting on January 9-10 in Kingston. Bonnie Clark, Warden of Peterborough County, was acclaimed as Chair, while Steve Ferguson, Mayor of Prince Edward County, was elected Vice-Chair.
Clark emphasized the EOWC’s focus on advancing key priorities, including infrastructure development, housing improvements, and health care for Eastern Ontario’s 103 municipalities. Ferguson highlighted the importance of advocacy and partnerships to address the needs of small-urban and rural communities.
The meeting featured Ontario Ministers Paul Calandra (Municipal Affairs and Housing) and Lisa Thompson (Rural Affairs), who praised the region’s leadership and its role in driving provincial growth. Members of Parliament (Cheryl Gallant, Michelle Ferreri, Shelby Kramp-Neuman), Members of Provincial Parliament (John Jordan, Ric Bresee, Tyler Allsopp, Ted Hsu), and representatives from partner organizations like the Association of Municipalities of Ontario also participated.
The EOWC aims to position Eastern Ontario as a leading region for development and investment in 2025.
