Online shopping in places like Facebook Marketplace has grown in popularity over the years, and so have the number of scammers trying to get your money.
The OPP’s Bill Dickson says common sense should reign.
Dickson says make sure you do your homework before you commit to anything, especially by checking sellers’ profiles.
He says its always good to find a neutral site for pickups or dropoffs.
Finally, if you have a bad feeling about a deal, cancel it. If you have to you can block the person you think might be scamming you.
