Prime minister-designate Mark Carney will be sworn in as Canada’s new Prime Minister today at Rideau Hall.
Hastings – Lennox and Addington – Tyendinaga Liberal Candidate Tracey Sweeney Schenk was in attendance Sunday when it was announced Carney won the race in a resounding first-ballot victory.
She told myFM it also gives great comfort knowing that Carney’s resume is pages long compared to his competitors and that he has the wherewithal.
Tracey also said she’s grateful for how outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau managed the pandemic, President Donald Trump’s first term and Trump’s current term.
Looking ahead, she feels that with strength and conviction, Carney will stand up to Trump and the trade and tariff was with the States.
Carney will be sworn in as Canada’s 24th prime minister at 11 a.m. today.
