Environment Canada has issued freezing rain and heavy rainfall warnings for Greater Napanee and the surrounding area.
Heavy rain is expected, with already saturated ground increasing the risk of flooding. Low-lying areas may see water pooling, and flash floods could occur.
A freezing rain warning is also in effect from Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Up to five millimetres of ice could form on some surfaces. Snow and ice pellets may arrive Wednesday afternoon, with up to five centimetres possible before turning to freezing rain. Strong winds up to 50 km/h could worsen tree damage.
As temperatures rise, freezing rain will change to rain overnight. Roads, sidewalks, and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Ice buildup could also break tree branches.
Officials urge residents to use caution when walking or driving. More updates will be issued as conditions develop.
